For the first time, The Pride Center at Equality Park will be a recipient of funds from the SMART Ride. We have the privilege of seeing daily the work of our staff and volunteers in HIV prevention, education and support. So many lives are impacted in significant ways by the work we do here. The monies our team raises will help extend the reach of the Center and other benefitting agencies. You will save, enhance and nurture people’s lives because of your participation in the SMART Ride.

Judy Shepherd – A Celebration of Life. Join us as we celebrate a true community advocate! We look forward to sharing memories and stories about Judy with everybody. Please bring your stories/memories/thoughts to share (In the interest of time, we ask you keep it to around 2 minutes). Judy wanted an upbeat reflection of her life. She wanted a celebration. That’s what we’ll be giving her! And Judy loved to dance! So after our gathering at the Pride Center, we’ll head over to New Moon to continue the celebration and dance up a storm!

Suicide Prevention: To Be Or Not To Be
To Be Or Not To Be. Turning on the light in the darkest hour. Understanding and recognizing the signs of suicide in those we care about. Wilton Manors has noted an increase on suicide rates in the LGBT community. LGBT people are at least 8 times more susceptible to suicide attempts. Often we miss the signs of a loved one who feels they’ve ran out of options. Come and get informed, learn helpful ways to intervene when someone is suicidal. Show that you care for your community and your loved ones. Be the light for those stuck in the darkness!
